Rain of Blessing Ministries, Inc. is an outreach to the indigenous people living in the Amazon basin of Peru, located in South America.  The ministry is lead by Willie and Paulette Strickland who are giving their lives to the people of this area of the world.  They love the people of Peru and desire to bring them the gospel of Jesus Christ to restore them to their Creator, to heal their families and to free them from the lies that enslave them.  Rain of Blessing operates approximately four hundred miles from the nearest city, Iquitos, in very remote areas.  With the abscense of roads and airports, boat travel is the only means of transportation in this region.  The Stricklands, and their team of Peruvians, live among the people and work in the villages located on the rivers in the Amazon jungles bringing Bible teaching to people who have little or no exposure to the gospel.  In addition, they desire to provide opportunities for the villagers to break free from the cycle of poverty which has held them captive for generations.  Some of their goals in accomplishing this include secondary education for children, orphan care, instruction on raising live stock, training in more productive methods of farming to provide a more balanced food supply, drilling wells for clean drinking water and establishing medical clinics to provide basic medical treatment.

        For the past two summers, my husband has had the priviledge of traveling to Peru and working with Rain of Blessing.  We are in regular communication with them through email (they are able to connect to the internet via sattelite) and are attempting to assist their efforts in various ways.  My husband, along with many others, has been able to travel to various villages and share the truth of God's Word(through an interpreter) to many people.  Since last summer, he's been involved with the ongoing research and develpment of agriculture in that region and possibly air travel using small, lightweight, experimental aircraft capable of taking off and landing on water or on a very small strip of land.
